Operability
Operation and maintenance have been carefully
considered in the design of the treatment plant. All process tanks can be rapidly
dewatered through the plant drain system, and numerous tank interconnections allow
flexibility in process control. Instrumentation is designed for simplicity in operation
and local readouts of process flows are conveniently located throughout the plant. Process
testing is performed in a fully equipped wastewater laboratory.
Maintenance considerations include use of low-maintenance
construction materials and 1/4 inch per foot floor slopes for easy clean-up in process
areas. Sump pumps are capable of pumping large solids.
The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System is a computerized system used
to continuously monitor the process flow and operation of plant equipment. The SCADA system shows graphic displays of all plant process systems on video monitors and provides the
operator current status and maintenance history of all process equipment. The SCADA system
also records plant monitoring information in a database which may be accessed by the operator
for data preparation and/or analysis.
The SCADA system is fully accessible to authorized plant personnel to
monitor the facility from remote locations
